Passion Flower Family OR Nature's Clock flower (?)

Posted by
Japanalia (Yokohama, Japan) on 17 June 2015 in Plant & Nature and Portfolio.

Quite rare in our neighbourhood - Passiflora Caerulea - we found it next to a house, growing abundantly on the wire fence. It was nice that we could have access from the street.
Somebody mentioned here, in the comments, that it looks like a space ship! And...it does!
Then Hiro-san from Kyoto gave me the name in Japanese, which is translated as "clock flower"...and I found it quite remarkable! I immediately thought that Nature created its own clock! I only wonder if it is really in need of a clock?!
