Midtown Plaza

Posted by Japanalia (Yokohama, Japan) on 1 March 2009 in Architecture and Portfolio.

Tokyo Midtown - a new mall - is a green oasis in the heart of the city where time flows leisurely, surrounded by design and works of art. The mall comprises three zones: The Galleria, a four-story open foyer arcade full of shops and all sorts of trendy restaurants, caffes, cakeshops, chocolateries and so on.....enough to get all the money in your pockets! The Plaza is the area for rest and relaxation, with water and greenery serving to warm up the atmosphere of the surrounding concrete and glass. Behind the Tower there is a Garden, a parkland of lawn and trees chosen to mark the passage of seasons that Japanese are so very fond of watching. Here and there, more or less strange objects that are called art! The black object in front is called "Key to a Dream", by Kan Yasuda.
