If you want all sorts of flowers, then May is the month, when the richest crop of all sorts blooms around. If you want flowers of the rainy season, that is irises and hydrangeas, then the first half of June is the best time for them. If you want autumn colours, November is the month. Now, it is also necessary to take into consideration WHICH part of Japan you visit. In spring, the blooming wave starts in Kyushu and goes north to Hokkaido, where it reaches its peak in late April, beginning of May.
