This beautiful garden has also a historical past. The buildings you see in the background are part of the estate of a wealthy farmer (shoya), erected in the 16th century. This is considered as one of the most scenic vistas in Japan, the vibrant irises against the pristine white of the walls leading to the gate.

It is very beautiful. I would so love to visit this garden, but it is too many miles away, so thank you dear Gabriela for taking us there via your wonderful pictures.

This is spectacular. I'm surprised it isn't mobbed with people. The scene is so lovely and, as Marion says, though we can't get there ourselves, you take us there with this photo. Thanks for sharing. Hope more from this place are on the way!

The field is ALIVE, with the sounds of raindrops on the beautiful Irises. Blues, lavenders, purples, yellows and whites within the lush greens - so lovely, Gabriela.

Oh my goodness, this is absolutely delightful. I don't think I've ever seen this many irises in one place.

WOW! These shayas had a very good taste! That's different from the obliged rows of begonias in the small gardens of our Friesian farms (but they don't have that many staff these days:).
