" I went out in the Spring
To gather the young herbs.
So many petals were falling
Drifting in confused flight
That I lost my way."
(poem by Ki no Tsurayuki, 882-946)
Hi, Japanalia, some ten minutes ago I saw your blue flowers of yesterday as your last posting, and now thiese... it means that we are blogging at the same time. It must be late in the evening in Japan, here it is 5 minutes before 12.00. I like the poem. I think Chinese and Japanese poetry differs from Western poetry in that it simply describes what's happening and leaves the feeling to the reader or listener, our poems try to express the feeling of the poet, more or less "imposing" it to the reader by trying to share it with him/her. Thanks for your nice tulips!
So breathtaking I'm not sure words would appropriately convey my sense of awe...I'd be so thrilled to have taken such an exquisite photo...

I love the muted colors, they look like they are just peeking their little heads out of the shadows and catching the light. I don't know where you go to get your flower pictures, but I would love to visit there too, if it wasn't half way around the world. Truly a beautiful picture.
Have come back to look at the delicate tulip petals. In ma garden, no more tulips now, they are finished already. The light blue iris and pink peonias are blossoming ...
Wishing you a wonderful Sunday,
Eva
