My visitors.....the curious sparrows

"Are you going to give us something or not? We're waiting"...this is how they keep hopping on the balcony rail, the antenna, and then come flying to their canteen, checking again and again....is the rice there or not. Of course, they do it fifty times a day! If they see me close to the window, they get thrilled...expectation is in the air...and 10-15 of them give it a round......to no avail, though. I feed them in the morning and, occasionally, when they are begging too much, I might give them a snack in the afternoon.I thought they might feel attracted by the red amaryllis flowers....but that was wishful thinking, they only think food.
