The Thinker of Hamangia and his Woman

These are copies of the famous neolithic statuettes belonging to the culture of Hamangia, dating to 6,000-5,500BC, found by archeologists in a tomb near presentday Cernavoda, in the region of Dobrogea, Romania.The statues were made of clay and there were many other objects around them made of marble and stone.
They are among my favourites as their shape and attitude are so modern, they make me think of our existence as a cycle, we might return where we began.....
