Just a few days left until the blossoms of the wild plum trees will mark the arrival of spring! These wonderful little flowers decorate the black naked branches of the very sinuously trunked "ume"......So many poems dedicated to them, so many paintings.....But when they bloom you know that nature is awake, alive and kicking!

Was in Tokyo on Sunday. Went to Shinjuku Park, where plum blossoms were starting to emerge. But to me, it feels like winter isn't giving up without a fight! Its been extra cold recently I feel...
