....a corner in the Sankei Garden which was much isolated from the rest, where I found no one every time I visited. It particularly fascinated me in winter because of the artistic silhouettes of the naked trees. The leafless trees are wild plum trees [ume] and....maybe....a sakura (cherry tree); next, the decorative Japanese pine trees can have the most unexpected shapes! I did some work in photoshop as the inspiration took me, trying to make it look a little dramatic.

A lovely effect Gabriela, the curves of the trees stand out beautifully.

It really is gorgeous, Gabriela. The snake-like shapes of the trees are superbly interesting. The coloring is just right.

Japanalia - you have succeeded in crafting a very dramatic image - well done! I love these trees. The cherry blossoms are supposed to be in bloom this weekend in northern Okinawa. With luck the weather will improve and we'll see some beautiful blossoms!

This one has a very exotic element to it, your processing has kicked it up a notch or two.

I used to find being in a Japanese garden ( or shrine grounds) at a quite time such a delight when I was in Japan, so I am particularly pleased to be able to see this. You have brought out the drama here in a very tasteful way. I must say that I normally don't go for unusual tratments of a scene, but this somehow looks just right as it is. Great work, then.

I like Japanese gardens very much, this one looks very exuberant compared to those I have seen (pictures of). I also like the ones with pebble fields and sand, with only a few small trees or plants, and a pond with some bamboo or reeds, and somewhere a bamboo water conductor. Inviting to sink into the universe which is in- and outside yourself.
