.....under their tepees! A view of the garden at Kamakura, below the Tsurugaoka Hachiman Shrine, on the shore of the Genpei pond. It would be beautiful to have snow on the straw tepees, but snow is a big event in this area close to the Pacific! In my 25 years of life in Japan I've never had the chance to see them surrounded by snow.

Ohhhhhhhhh, this is wonderful composition, Gabriela! The teepees, umbrellas and the massive tree trunk all lead the eye through the photo. Then, of course, the beautiful red Peonies blossoming under shelter add their wonderful color! Applause!!!

@Judy: Thank you, dear Judy! I like your enthusiasm for my posting! Have a hug, Gabriela
This is really nice. I like the rhythm here established by the complementary shapes, and the lovely red peeking out here and there. Nicely done.

Excelente composición para esta linda fotografia, me llama mucho la atención esas especies de sombrillas que les ponen a las flores en Japón, es para que no se hielen ¿verdad? Saludos!

A real slice of culture, Gabriela. We would never see these teepees in the West. Such care taken over individual flowers seems wonderful. There are so many interesting textures in your photo. Thank you for the mini visit to Japan. Michael

The weather has been strange. When I was in Takamatsu at New Year's, some plum blossoms were starting to show. Although I have to say past 2 days feel colder...

Beautiful! I love the teepees (and the red adds such striking contrast).

This is a wonderful composition and an excellent peek into Japanese culture! I think that only the Japanese would take the time to build such shrouds for the plants. In America we would drape them in cheap plastic to save time and money.

@Craiger: Thank you for the visit, Craiger! And for the comment! Gabriela
What a great romantic capture, it shows the traditional Japanese respect for growing nature very well! It must take a lot of attention and effort to place the shields and make sure the wind will not blow them away.
