Maybe Poe's Raven? It came out of nowhere, sat comfortably on a maple tree branch just in front of me and started to munch on a freshly stolen piece of.....something. From time to time it stopped and looked at me with that black beady eye. Evil eye? No, rather....mockingly glinting. When I turned to go I thought I heard a murmur like...."nevermore...." So, it just might have been Poe's Raven!

Ravens teach us to find our true meaning of self. Helping us to bring forward our imagination and resourcefulness into our daily life. When we reach deep into our self, know our truth, and bring it into the light, this is powerful magik. In the Pacific Northwest Native mythology Raven is the bringer of light to the people. Just as Raven brought the stars, the moon, and the sun to us all; let Raven bring you to your own light and fly free into the magik of creation.

Wow that's gorgeous, check out the detail on the feathers, I love it. The way he's perched on that branch makes it an extra special compo. No to mention, bien sur, those incredible reddish colours in the foreground and pinkish in the background...well done!

@Daroru: Yes, but you don't always get such a beautiful raven in a red maple tree, do you?! Here, near Yokohama, they are less bothering, but very noisy!Didn't you freeze in Kyoto?
omg, one of the best shot's I've seen for some time, I absolutely love it! Ravens are the coolest ^__^
