One of the many Japanese maples which leaves turn red in autumn. The location is the Showa Memorial Park at Tachikawa, a suburb area of Tokyo. A huge park created to reflect all fours seasons of the year. The gardeners are dedicated to their work and their flowers beds never fail to amaze the visitors. Spring and autumn are the seasons when trees talk the language of flowers and leaves, respectively.

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhh, Gabriela ........ this is downright GORGEOUS!!! Close cropping, the bold trunks and the muted background bring out all the details and presents a beautiful composition. A true WINNER!!!

Very nice. You are so right. I am lucky enough to have been in Kyoto for both the fall leaves and the spring cherry blossoms. The Japanese are rightly proud of both seasons' displays. They are not to be missed.

@Steve: By now I've read your "about" and am aware you had the opportunity to stay for one year in Japan. I've been here for 24 years, half of them spent in Tokyo and the half in Kanagawa Prefecture, not so far from Yokohama. My dream is to visit Kyoto in autumn and take shots of the gardens there! I visited once in the autumn of 2001, but had not the appropriate camera to take good shots. Friendly regards, Gabriela
